Yleensä vaan sanotaan että "I'm sorry for your loss". Eli käyttävät aina tuota I am sorryä kun pahoittelevat.

Näin juuri. Mulla on äidinkieli englanti enkä oo törmänny tuohon condolences sanaan kuin erittäin virallisissa surunvalitteluissa ja ehkä jossain korteissa korkeintaan. Muoks. siis voi toki sanoa niin, että I'm sorry to hear about your loss and I want to offer my condolences, mutta pelkkä "my condolences" ei oikeen käy ja "please accept my condolences" on vaan......hmm....huono.
